Terms and conditions

The Event Thing Terms of Service

We reserve the right to update and change these terms of service from time to time without notice. Any new features or services we may add will be covered by these terms of service. An up to date copy of these terms of service can be found on the TheEventThing website.

Services provided

The services provided by theEventThing are provided as is with no warrant to their usefulness or suitability. It is your choice to use them and by doing so, you accept that if something goes wrong or does not work, it is not our fault and you will not get angry or sue us, not now or ever.

Service availability

While we endeavour to provide our services, we cannot guarantee that they will always work or that they will always be available for your use. In fact, we may suspend or withdraw all or part of our services at any time with no warning, but we will try not to.

Limited liability

By using this service, browsing the website or consuming any of the content routed through our service you absolve us of any liability if something goes wrong. You certainly don't hold us liable for consequential losses.

As we don't supply the event content and certainly don't have the resources to check each event posted, we suggest you contact the event owner before spending any time or money attending an event. We'd also suggest you check the details of the event with the event organiser.

If for some reason we are found liable, you agree that the maximum extent of our liability (including any legal costs) is the fees you paid us in the month that the issue arose in.

Legal and decent

By using this service you agree to keep all of your content both legal and decent. That means no illegal activities may be advertised, carried out or promoted by you using our service. As this site is open to a wide range of audiences, we don't feel that it is appropriate to advertise adult services here, so such adverts may not be published here, so nothing of a sexual nature and no sexually explicit language. In fact, while we are at it, please do not use profanities here.

If you find any inappropriate content, please report it to us via the website and while we have no obligation to, we will investigate it and may remove it, the list containing it and the user who posted it.

Copy and content are the responsibility of event organisers, event owners and place managers who agree to ensure that it is accurate, legal, kept up to date and in good taste.

Copyright

While we provide the service, event list owners provide the content. By using the service they give us the right to freely copy any and all content, repackage it, republish it, pass it on and alter it in any way we may have the whim to do. This includes posting it on our website, passing it on to others to use on their website and generally publicising it.

Spamming

Don't do it.

If you see any spam, please let us know.

We don't like spam and we've not met anyone that does. To this end, you may not use this site to spam others. By spamming we mean (but don't limit our definition to) sending people content that they either did not ask for or did not want. So you may not post multiple events, send content to people who don't want it or advertise products or services. We also regard false or misleading information as spamming, so that will cost.

If you do use this service to spam, you agree to pay us a fee for each posting you make and for each person that reads your posting. Think of this as a very expensive extended pay per click advertising scheme. See the scale of charges below.

Certain products or spam content carry an extraordinary charge. These include pharmaceutical products (especially those purporting to increase sexual potency or prowess), replica watches, mortgage products, debt consolidation or holiday offers. While we are not that great at spelling, poor spelling really annoys some of our friends, so misspelt spam postings incur double charges and think of the use of numbers instead of letters as a triple word score for us.

If you use our services to spam, you also agree to pay any expenses we incur in hunting you down and dragging you through the courts.

We again reserve the right to remove or amend any content posted.
